Cronulla Sharks half Braydon Trindall has extended his time with the club after putting pen to paper on a new long-term contract last week.

Already signed on for 2025, the three-year contract extension sees Trindall committed to Cronulla until the end of the 2028 season, the club announced on Friday.

Finding his best form late this year, the former Wee Waa Panthers junior helped guide the Sharks to within one game of a grand final appearance, and in signing the new deal, the 25-year-old now looks forward to playing a key role in bringing success to the Sharks in the seasons ahead.

“I didn’t want to go anywhere else,” Trindall said.

“The club has put a lot of trust in me over the years, so I’m just looking forward to repaying them and repaying the fans.

“I just love this place. I love the club, I love the people here, I just love the whole organisation.

“I came here when I was 18, did a lot of growing and still have a lot of growing to do. I’m just looking forward to it and I couldn’t see myself anywhere else.”

Trindall came into his own in the back half of the 2024 season, stepping up as a key playmaker when Nicho Hynes was injured before producing a sensational two-try performance in a semi- final victory against the North Queensland Cowboys.

Joining the Sharks as an 18-year-old in 2018, the Wee Waa boy was part of the premiership-winning Jersey Flegg side, a team containing the likes of Bronson Xerri and Teig Wilton, the young Cronulla side beating a Penrith side featuring Stephen Crichton, Spencer Leniu and Mitch Kenny.

Success followed Trindall during the next season as he became an integral member of the Newtown Jets team that won the NSW Cup and NRL State Championship.

Trindall made his NRL debut against Brisbane in round 12 of the 2020 season and has since gone on to play 71 NRL games, scoring 21 tries and kicking 84 goals, and also two matches for the Indigenous All Star team.
