The residents and staff at the Boggabri John Prior Multi Purpose Service enjoyed a lovely day celebrating the Melbourne Cup.
Prior to race day the craft group made the bunting and decorations for the tables. The stunning place cards featuring vintage photos of days gone by at the cup, including ladies’ fashions in the field, winning horses, photo finishes and vintage race meeting photos took pride of place.
Morning tea saw the residents enjoying high tea with all the trimmings and checking the horses that they drew in the sweeps.
The staff served a delicious luncheon while the residents enjoyed a glass of bubbles.
Some residents and staff gathered in the activity room to watch the cup and cheer on their horses prior to afternoon tea and either celebrations or commiserations.
