The Lions Club of Wee Waa delivered a highly successful Lions Youth of the Year competition at the school campus recently.
Six students participated in the event that is designed to develop young people’s confidence, public speaking and interview skills.
Principal Jacki Neil expressed pride and admiration for the young contestants: Matilda Currey, Bella Suckling, Jett Palmer, Mia Kiem, John Brodigan and Toby Galagher.
Bruce Gray of Wee Waa Lions coordinated and delivered the event with the help of a number of fellow Lions club members.
Mr Gray also officiated the announcement of the winners.
The overall winner was Toby Galagher, with the public speaking section being won by two students this year – Jett Palmer and Mia Kiem.
WWHS congratulated all the students who participated, and the winners on their excellent efforts.
Special thanks were also conveyed to judges: Anna Madden, Ethan Towns and Lisa Almagro.
