Caitlin Peirce claimed victory at the Ford Women’s NSW Open Regional Qualifying Event held at Narrabri Golf Club last week.

The 22-year-old South Australian produced back-to-back impressive performances, carding rounds of 69 on Thursday and 68 on Friday to end the tournament at five under par.

It marked a significant milestone for Peirce, who has only recently turned professional.

“I’m pretty happy. It’s definitely what I’ve been working towards, so it’s nice to get the win,” she said after her victory.

This was just Peirce’s third event as a professional golfer, following her debut at the Wagga Wagga Regional Qualifier back in November.

“It’s nice that it’s happened so soon,” she added.

“I didn’t have a lot of expectations coming in—just hoped to finish near the top. I guess being number one is always the goal.”

Peirce’s final scorecard included six birdies, highlighted by a crucial chip-in on the 15th hole that solidified her lead.

“I probably holed a lot of putts where it could’ve gone either way, and that chip-in late definitely helped,” she reflected.

Paired with Kelsey Bennett, Jordan O’Brien and Siyi Keh for the final round, she enjoyed the camaraderie on the course.

“It was definitely a lot of fun, pumping each other up. It was a little quiet, so we tried to get each other going—it was good fun,” she shared.

The win came after Peirce finished day one on Thursday tied second on two-under alongside Keh. They both trailed O’Brien by one shot as the leader finished the day three-under.

Pierce ended up winning by three shots from Rhianna Lewis, who was two-under after two rounds after she shot 69 on Friday. Both of those golfers qualified for the 2025 Ford Women’s NSW Open at Wollongong Golf Club from March 20–23 next year after placing in the top two.

Bennett ended up third with an even score of 142 after she ended day one in fourth place at one-under, while O’Brien slid to fourth after shooting a 75 on day two.

One of the biggest slides saw Keh drop from tied second to 16th after she shot a 78 on day two.

Looking ahead, Peirce said that she had her sights set on producing strong performances at the coming qualifying events as well as the Ford Women’s NSW Open at Wollongong Golf Club from March 20–23.

“Dubbo, Bathurst—those are next on my list. Hopefully, I can score good results there as well,” she said.

The next stop in the qualifying series was Dubbo Golf Club, where the Pro-Am kicked off on Sunday. Bennett won that event after she scored three under across the two days’ play.

Joining Bennett in securing a spot at the 2025 Ford Women’s NSW Open in Wollongong was Cecilia Cho, who earned the second qualifying position after a countback. She finished tied for second on one-under-par alongside Kathryn Norris and Vasquez-Boyd but edged ahead due to a strong back-nine showing.

Peirce ended the Dubbo event in fifth with one-over-par after shooting a 70 on day one and a 75 on day two.
