Three lucky Narrabri Shire shoppers will share in $6500 of Buy Local vouchers when The Courier, Wee Waa News and North West Magazine’s Shop Local Christmas promotion prizes are drawn at tomorrow night’s Narrabri Chamber of Commerce Christmas Street Carnival.
First prize this year is $5000, second is $1000 and third prize is $500 to spend at any of the participating businesses. Throughout the course of the 10-week promotion, a weekly $50 voucher winner has also been drawn.
This year, 18 local businesses have joined in the promotion.
The Courier Christmas shopping promotion has again had the support of the community, with tens of thousands of tickets, representing millions of dollars in purchases at local stores, set to go into the barrel.
“The Christmas Shopping Promotion is a win-win for our participating businesses, their customers who support them by shopping locally, and for the community,” said The Courier editor Dylan Smith.
“Thanks to the participating business and the thousands of shoppers who made the choice to shop locally”.
Christmas shoppers … there is still time to shop and enter. Tickets will be available at local outlets until entries close at 12pm tomorrow.
The three main prize winners will be drawn near the Maitland Street pedestrian crossing from 7.30pm.
The draw will be overseen by Courier staff and scrutineer Narrabri Chamber of Commerce president Russell Stewart and drawn by Santa Claus.
Prize winners will be individually notified as will the businesses which sold the winning tickets.
