Members of the Boggabri Women’s Shed celebrated International Women’s Day by hosting a trivia evening on Saturday, March 8, 2025.

President Lenise Walker welcomed everyone to the event, especially those who had travelled from other towns to be present on the night.

The evening consisted of catching up with friends, celebrating International Women’s Day, sampling delicious finger food while trying to outshine the other teams in both the trivia questions and the team building games.

Women from Gunnedah, Narrabri, Yarrie Lake and Boggabri made up the eight teams; Shed Sheilas, Virago, Caretakers, Blueys, Reigning Champions, Girls Just Want to Have Fun, 21 Again, and Who’s ya Paddy were invited to decorate their tables with many and varied results.

Noreen Boehm was the trivia interrogator and Helen Fielding was the games hostess.

The six categories of trivia included general knowledge, TV/movies, music, famous people, sport, and Australian history.

These trivia sessions were interspersed with lassoing reindeers, retrieving jewels using toilet paper rolls, Pictionary, Head and Tails and identifying logos.

Robyn Grover and Melinda Hall had the unenviable task of judging the best decorated table.

The top final scores were within a point or two with ’Girls Just Want To Have Fun’ taking the honour of first place as well as best decorated table.

Team ‘21 Again’ took home the wooden spoons; however, the 57 women who attended agreed it was a laugh a minute and are looking forward to next year’s event.
