The 2025 Northern Inland Premier League campaign was put on hold last weekend as all six of the second round fixtures were washed out and postponed.

Namoi United FC were scheduled to host their first home game of the year against the defending champions and the 2025 Johnson Cup tournament winners Inverell FC at Moree, but that game will now be played sometime in the near future.

The washouts added to a disruptive start to the season for the combined Narrabri/Wee Waa/ Moree club, who now have a bye this weekend in round three and then have two weekends off in April after round four due to Easter and Anzac Day. Either side of that break they will host games at Hogan Oval.

The club will welcome Tamworth FC to Narrabri on Saturday, April 12, in round four, and will then challenge Hillvue Rovers for the second time this year on Saturday, May 3, in round five.

Namoi United kicked off the 2025 campaign against the Rovers in round one last month and prevailed 5-1 in an away game in Tamworth, leaving them on top of the table heading into round three.

For seven of the 13 clubs in the NIPL competition, this Saturday’s matches will be their first of the season.

All six northern conference clubs sat out with a bye in round one, as did the southern conference’s 2024 campaign first grade minor premiers Moore Creek.
