A special author talk recently took place at The Exchange with Jacqueline Gaul showcasing her new book ‘The Overcoming’. A devotion to her baby boy Jack who was unfortunately still born at birth.
It was an emotional night of connection, reassurance and support for those who have experienced losing a loved one.
Co-host was Malinda Guest from Boundless Psychology, bringing her wealth of knowledge surrounding mental health to the event.
Lightning Ridge local turned into an inspirational author; Jacqueline Gaul has managed to find peace and learnt to trust herself in the most heartbreaking of situations.
Jacqueline’s journey through this period is documented in the book, with each chapter taking another step of her grieving process.
The butterfly remains a symbol of Jack and the everlasting love, connection and strength that Jacqueline has experienced with the loss of her baby.
“I think it is so important to have this conversation with women of all ages. It is definitely a topic that should be touched on in a sensitive matter,” Jacqueline said.
After Jacqueline had read her chosen chapter to the audience, there was a short break, then it was time for the Q&A portion of the night. Previously, Jacqueline had asked her followers on social media what questions they would ask if they were to attend the event.
Jacqueline read these aloud and gave her answers to the audience. It was a great way to discuss topics with the crowd, without putting pressure on the attendees to ask questions.
The Exchange building was the perfect venue to hold this event. It was a safe space for attendees to ask questions, express emotions and tell their own stories with Jacqueline and Malinda.
