Baan Baa preschool has eleven eager little people enrolled in their new fee free preschool sessions conducted by Ooranga Mobile Resource Unit.
Director of Ooranga, Leanne Pryor is excited to see how the little ones have quickly adapted to their new surroundings and how fast they can ride the new balance bikes.
Ooranga’s funding model means that they cannot provide services where there is an established service and they concentrate on the smaller towns and villages.
This enables all children access to early childhood services no matter where they live.
Ms Pryor said that Ooranga is aware that there is a shortage of preschool and childcare in the larger centres, however, there is no residential restrictions so people from Baan Baa, Boggabri and Narrabri are welcome to enrol their child in one of the six vacancies.
When The Courier visited, the children were outdoors happy playing in the sensory dishes, making patterns with coloured water, swinging on the swings, digging with their monster machines and of course riding the bikes. The Baan Baa Hall has received some upgrades in preparation for the preschool making it a very warm and welcoming learning environment.
