Kevin Baguley and Larry Scott are the Narrabri Bowling Club’s 2024/25 season men’s club fours competition champions following a comfortable victory in Saturday’s final.
The brother-in-law duo took on Ian Macmillan and Stuart Coleman in the decider at the John McNamara Owen Campey Green and prevailed 28 shots to 12 after 19 ends of play.
Macmillan and Coleman started strongest as they scored a one on the first end and a two on the second end to establish an early 3-0 lead.
However, Baguley and Scott hit back in style with five shots on the third end and four on the fourth to go in front 9-3.
Macmillan and Coleman registered two shots on the fifth end, and then after conceding three shots to nothing across the next two ends they went on a three-end run where they scored one shot on each to reduce the deficit to four.
Ahead 12-8, Baguley and Scott then claimed four of the next five ends and outscored their opponents 11 shots to one in the process to stretch their lead out to 23-9.
Macmillan and Coleman scored a three on the 16th end as they tried to get themselves back in the contest, but Baguley and Scott then scored a three of their own on the 17th end and one shot each on the 18th and 19th ends to bring the match to a close as they prevailed 28-19.
