Tony Redman’s sensational 2024/25 bowls season continued on Saturday when he was crowned the champion of Narrabri Bowling Club’s super veteran singles competition.

Redman challenged Len Ryan in the over-70s competition decider and he prevailed 26 shots to 11 in 17 ends.

The final was Redman’s third of the 2024/25 campaign after he met Dave Dewar in the club singles decider back in December and then the consistency singles final in January.

He was victorious in the second of those two battles against Dewar and then added another championship on Saturday after taking the lead on the fifth end and never looking back.

Ryan started strongest as he claimed the first end and then led four shots to three after three ends.

However, Redman scored a four on the fourth end to go ahead seven shots to three and he then claimed the following three ends to establish a 14 shots to five lead after eight ends.

Ryan scored one shot on the ninth end to reduce his deficit to eight, but he was only able to claim two more ends as Redman charged away to outscore him 12 shots to five from the 10th end onwards and win the game 26-11 after just 17 ends.
