There was good energy all around at The Crossing Theatre for the 2025 inaugural New Energy Expo.
The day featured a range of wonderful exhibitors; Energus, Unions NSW, UNE, SRI Energy, Enervest, Engie, ACE Power, FRV and Hiringa Energy.
Most of these companies flew out from Sydney and Melbourne, highlighting their clear support for regional organisations.
Proudly sponsored by Essential Energy as well as Community Power Agency and Workforce Australia, the expo was an informative, inspiring and uniting day for the community.
The expo was divided into three sessions with guest speakers discussing their own field of knowledge surrounding new energy.
Founder and managing director at Geni. Energy, Sally Hunter was very happy with the event and the support shown by the Narrabri Region.
“Our main mission is to create more local benefits in the renewables transition; it is an inevitable transition that is happening now,” Sally said.
“I think there are lots of great opportunities for businesses and farms to cut their electricity bills and create some new ways of doing business.
“We’re hoping to help people as much as we can to do that.
“Some of our key speakers have come from Sydney and all around.
“We wanted to provide country hospitality and give our speakers from the city a big old North West welcome.
“100 ticket sales plus 50 students.
“The students have come from Collarenebri, Walgett, Moree and Narrabri. They will be talking about jobs in renewables.
“We can be part of it, or we can be left behind,” Sally said.
The New Energy Expo was a great day for the community to get evolved and a good chance to gain some knowledge on what the future holds for renewable energy in the country.
