The semi-finalists of Narrabri Bowling Club’s 2024/25 season men’s veteran singles and ladies’ president pairs competitions were locked in last week and the four matches will be contested this Saturday.
The ladies’ first president pairs matches were played last Thursday and Saturday, with eight teams lining up in this season’s competition.
Thursday’s contests saw Ronnie Dewar and Cindy Neil defeat Cecile and Lorraine Scott 24-9, and Helen Woodward and Di Chessells outscore Rhonda Fitzgerald and Kay Carolan 21-18.
The two matches on Saturday saw Janice Foxe and Lisa Pillar take down Glennis Godden and Debbie Gleeson 21-8, and Rebecca Taylor and Eva Sadler defeat Dawn Armstrong and Lyn Tuckey 20-13.
Two quarter-final fixtures in the men’s veteran singles comp were held on Saturday.
Keith Stoltenberg outscored Ian Macmillan 25-6 while Bill Rosewarn came from behind to defeat Richard Little 25-15. Little led from the sixth end to the 17th end in his match when Rosewarn caught up and tied the score up at 15-all. Rosewarn then won the remaining ends to prevail by 10 shots.
Tony Redman and Terry Wilson had already won their way through to the semi-finals in that competition.
Social bowls was also played at the club last week, which saw two games of three-bowl pairs contested. Gloria Campey and Lyn Tuckey beat Trish Allison and Tony Redman 16-14, and Janet Coleman and Doug Mackereth defeated Glennis Godden and Stuart Coleman 17-14.

Semi-finals of the men’s veteran singles competition from 1pm – Keith Stoltenberg v Tony Redman (marker – Ian Macmillan); Terry Wilson v Bill Rosewarn (marker – Graham Rose).
