The Songbirds – Amy Vee and Anna Weatherup performed at the Baan Baa Hall earlier in April and were supported by Sarah Leete.
After a successful double headline East Coast tour in 2023, enduring Hunter singer-songwriters Amy Vee and Anna Weatherup have joined forces to present a second, expanded series of intimate performances on a multi-state tour in 2025.
The Vee name is well-known across the north west, and Amy originally hails from Tamworth, the daughter of stalwart Mike Vee.
Amy Vee is an established and award-winning songwriter and performer in her own right with extensive touring experience in Australia and internationally.
Amy has moonlighted as band member for other artists including Australian music royalty Jon English and Tim Freedman, all while building a solo career, opening for touring acts such as Luka Bloom, Passenger, Newton Faulkner, and Mark Seymour.
Her award-winning self-penned body of work includes two solo studio albums, an EP, and several singles.
Her latest offering will be a new album recorded live with a six-piece band and expected for release this month.
Anna Weatherup is perhaps best known for turning all four chairs on The Voice in its second season, with her audition garnering more than 1.2 million views on YouTube.
However, since that time, Anna has worked tirelessly to shape a truly unique and engaging creative identity, gathering a loyal community of followers via her many live shows and, during lockdowns, via live-streaming on Twitch.
Anna’s long-awaited album Crossing the Sea was released in 2023, with singles making waves on the iTunes charts and garnering more than 100k streams on Spotify.
Anna followed up with a stripped-back live version of the album, made for vinyl, in late 2023.
