The Crossing Theatre will remain closed for approximately five additional weeks in order to rectify further issues that were identified during scheduled fire safety upgrades last week, Narrabri Shire Council announced on Wednesday evening.
It is anticipated the venue will re-open on Monday, June 23. However, this date is subject to change as council works with contractors to get these upgrades completed.
“Safety is our number one priority,” Narrabri Shire Council general manager Eloise Chaplain said.
“During recent fire safety upgrades at The Crossing Theatre, further issues were identified which means additional works are required to be completed to ensure our fire safety systems are up to standard.
“We will keep our community and users of The Crossing Theatre updated regarding this matter, including via The Crossing Theatre website and social media pages, as well as council’s website and Facebook page.”
