Boggabri and District Rugby League Football Club hosted their first full matchday of the 2025 Group 4 Rugby League campaign on Saturday as the club’s first grade side played at Jubilee Oval for the first time this year.

The Kangaroos welcomed Werris Creek Magpies to town, and it was the visitors that kicked off the day with a victory in the ladies’ league tag game.

The Magpies defeated the Roos 32-4 in the ladies’ match, but the home side refused to give up and they were rewarded late in the game as Ashlee Haire crossed for the final try of the contest.

Boggabri then won the reserve grade game 30-16 to earn their third victory in four matches.

Matt Avendano bagged a double in that clash and Jarod Adams, Bailey Lennox and Josh Trindall all scored a try each.

Trindall finished the match with 14 points after slotting four conversions and a penalty goal.

The Kangaroos and the Magpies had both entered the day undefeated in first grade, but it was the visitors that remained that way after they defeated Boggabri 36-10 (see full story above).

Boggabri will be back in action when they travel to Moree’s Boughton Oval to challenge the Boars this Sunday in round five.
