The latest Narrabri town water testing results have been released by Narrabri Shire Council, showing a slight decrease in levels of PFAS.

Detection of PFHxS has decreased to 5ng/l, from 6ng/l in the previous month, while PFOS has decreased to 6ng/l, from 7ng/l in the previous month.

PFOA and PFOB were again not detected.

Testing results have identified PFAS levels below the current Australian Drinking Water Guidelines.

PFAS are per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, a group of over 4000 chemicals.

Council will continue to test the water supply monthly and report back to residents.
