Sunday, June 1 marked the beginning of World Haemochromatosis Week. Haemochromatosis is the most common genetic disorder in Australia causing the body to absorb too much iron from food. If not treated, this iron overload can damage orders and lead to serious illness or premature death. If caught early it is manageable with treatment as simple as giving blood. Early symptoms can be fatigue or aching joints.
