Last to face examiner – November 14:

The School Certificate examination which began at Narrabri High School today is something of a historic event. It will be the last public examination, as future awards of certificates will be based entirely on school assessment. Another change in the format of the award will be that each student will receive a ranking in each subject – not a pass or fail level, as at present. Outside the examination room at Narrabri High School today, these four students were in the right frame of mind for their first paper.
