The Narrabri Shire Council Maitland Street administration building has re-opened following a small kitchen fire.
Emergency services responded to the incident on Friday, June 6.
The building remained closed last week as the smell of smoke and fumes impacted part of the building.
Council reopened the building on Friday, with usual in-person customer service resuming, alongside council’s phone and email services.
“Following the quick thinking and effective response of staff, the fire was contained and all staff safely evacuated from the building,” council said following the incident.
Last Thursday afternoon, council issued another update and advised the building was ready to reopen the next day.
“We thank the community once again for their patience and understanding,” council said.
