C & D Electronics has been proudly serving Narrabri and the surrounding region for 30 years.

Chris and Spider Cunningham have operated the family-owned business since 1995.

Its long involvement in the business scene has seen C&Ds become well-known for its quality service and advice.

“All three of my children Rick, Tash and Leon have worked within the business at some stage of their lives,” Chris said.

“Tash has been with me from the start as a casual staff member after school to now managing the shop with me today. I’m very lucky to have my granddaughter Ayla to be involved here as well.

“Liz Squire has been my longest serving employee who is still here casually working her magic, keeping all the bookkeeping up to date and all the money balancing.

“Jay is my IT computer service specialist. “In the few years he has worked for me he has achieved great things for this business including the Rotary Club’s pride of Workmanship award winner in 2024.

“I have had too many fantastic staff members over the 30 years to name but most are now lifelong friends.”

In 1995, Chris and Spider took over Tandy Electronics from Matthew Zuiderduin. The store has won several national awards during this time including Tandy dealer of the year for several years in a row as well as excellence, sales and customer service awards.

“To this day I still have customers walk in and call my store Tandy’s,” Chris said.

“After Tandy’s wrapped up we went Dick Smith and then I took on Leading Edge and I have now been a Leading Edge dealer for over 20 years.

“From the time I took over the store I have seen many changes over the years from launching the very first Bag phone to CDMA mobiles and also I helped launch dial up internet in our area.”

Over the years, Chris said she has witnessed a lot of great changes from Atari to the latest PS5, DOS computers to the latest Windows, and very large desktop computers to all-in-one computers to the very first laptops. Even CD Roms to Bluetooth technology.

In the ever-changing technology space, C&D Electronics has always kept up-to-date ensuring Narrabri and surrounds can purchase equipment and devices locally.

“It’s been such a great exciting opportunity to witness all these massive changes in technology over the last 30 years,” Chris said.

“Not to mention musical instruments and serving all the up and coming musicians.

“I would like to thank all the customers for the continued support in the Narrabri and surrounding districts.

“Without all of you supporting our small retail business we wouldn’t have made it this far. We pride our store on servicing what we sell.”

Chris made special mention of her family and friends for their contribution and help over the last 30 years.

“Without you all I wouldn’t have been able to achieve such a big milestone,” Chris said.

“In this very competitive forever changing market we hope we can continue to provide our loyal customers the same local service for the next 30 years to come!”
