A season of achievements for Blue Boars

It’s grand final week for 2026 and what a season of achievements it has already been! Our club has had an outstanding year and there’s plenty to be proud of this week.

With a new competition format we have fielded teams in every competition. Fifteen rounds of rugby without very many byes has tested the resilience of the playing group and coaches at times. But the club has shown up and dug in when we’ve had to and having every grade earn a place in the finals is a fair reflection of that resilience and the success it has brought.

We’ve hosted 11 home games this year, more than we’ve had in a long time and the connection that has given us with our supporters has been fantastic. From big preseason fixtures against Avoca and St Alberts, to blockbuster home fixtures including our reunion, ladies and sponsors days, to hosting the minor semi, Dangar Park has seen plenty of action and the club has definitely benefitted.

Having the opportunity to have the Blue Boar community come together so much this year has been great to see. We are so fortunate to have such a strong level of support and engagement from our supporters, members, sponsors and the whole Narrabri Shire.

Thank you all who have been part of our season so far and we look forward to having as many of you as possible there on Saturday to cheer our women and reggies to victory!

So much of what the club has achieved is possible only due to the contribution of our volunteers. My thanks and that of the club goes to each of our committee members who, despite having many other roles around the club and in their own lives, have given so much of the time and energy to the betterment of the Narrabri Rugby Club.

Thank you also to our coaches, team managers, strappers, first aid officers and other volunteers, including the community groups who help run our gate. It takes such a large cast to run the club and each role is crucial to things operating smoothly. Thank you all.

On the rugby front, well done to our players. The first grade competition was a tight one, just two competition points between first and third. Our first graders came so close to joining the women and reggies in the grand final. Thank you, men, for your dedication to this season and congrats on a season you should be proud of.

And now this week, we look forward to having two grades playing for premierships!

Our women have been outstanding this year. They have stretched their winning run to two seasons and have made their fifth straight grand final!

It’s a team performance the club is immensely proud of.

We can’t wait to see the performance you will put on come Saturday. And, of course, our mighty reserve grade will play for glory as well.

This team had built so well through the year and the buy-in from the playing group is clear to see.

The major semi win at Moree was an effort full of conviction and doing your job for your mate beside you. All heart and effort.

It’s been impressive to watch and the club is pumped to see you all take the field this weekend.

To both teams, we are all right behind you on Saturday.
