Wee Waa High School’s Roley O’Shea attended The Arts Unit State Drama Camp, designed for talented year 9 and 10 students.
The drama camp is an intensive residential performance program run in Collaroy on Sydney’s Northern Beaches.
Throughout the week, Roley collaborated with like-minded students from across the state, learning from experienced teachers, theatre practitioners and industry professionals in a supportive and creative environment.
Through a series of immersive workshops and performance activities, including group devising, Roley refined and extended his drama skills while exploring his passions for scriptwriting and acting.
Roley said he particularly enjoyed scriptwriting and it’s something he hopes to pursue as a career after finishing school.

As an added highlight, campers attended Mackenzie, a dark and thrilling retelling of Macbeth presented by the renowned Bell Shakespeare company.
They also learned circus and clowning.
On the final day of camp, the budding actors performed for family and friends who were able to attend.
Roley’s group performed a play called The Glasshouse, where he played a comical role as a chef.
The talented WWHS student said he enjoyed the camp and was thrilled to receive an invitation to join the NSW Public Schools State
Drama Ensemble in October, in Sydney.
