Golfers came together in Narrabri on Sunday, September 20, for the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Charity Golf Day, raising support for the vital work of the service.

The day combined a competitive round of golf with strong community spirit, with teams battling it out for the top spots and individual players picking up prizes across a range of competitions.

Taking out first place was the team of Maree and Bob Taylor, Nicole Cooper and Graeme Trew.

Jye Manton, Karleigh Cook, Indi Canfell and Andy McManus finished runners-up, while Jordan Street, Mark Fielder, Paul Hulbert and Johannes Kruger claimed third place.

Fourth place went to Craig Gleeson, Josh Campbell, Jacob Nipperess and Brendon Ward.

There was plenty of individual success throughout the competition, with Mark Fielder, Kurt Watson, Jim Pitman and Paul Hulbert winning the men’s nearest-to-pin prizes on the fifth, eighth, 12th and 16th holes respectively.

The women’s nearest-to-pin honours went to Kim Bruce, Karleigh Cook, Leisa Eather and Melissa Hall.

The straightest drive competitions saw Blake Fielder, Tony Meppem and Kent Baker take out the men’s A, B and C grades, while Leisa Eather, Toni Laws and Maree Taylor claimed the corresponding women’s grades.
