NHS class of 1976 reunion

Narrabri High School’s cohort of graduates from 1976 have enjoyed a reunion to remember.

Denise and Roger Mulligan.

About 60 people were part of the recent celebration, which centred around the students who started their studies in 1971 and graduated in 1976.

Vicki Pawley, Louise Brennan, Kerrie Druce, Susan Ward and Helen Harris.

The festivities were organised by Nira Windeatt (nee Stove), who was the 1976 school captain, and Peter Wilson.

Mary Bernie, Joanne Sheedy and Margaret Auld.

The attendees were incredibly fortunate to be able to have a tour of the campus.

Elizabeth Bungey, Brian Sheedy and Helen Gentle.

Nira said they enjoyed seeing the changes that have taken place since the time they attended, as well as iconic elements of the school which are unchanged.

Phillip Armstrong, Nira Windeatt and Roz Duff.

“It evoked lots of memories,” Nira said.

A casual ‘connect again’ gathering was held at the Narrabri Golf Club on the Saturday afternoon.

Mark Gett and Greg Clark.

On the Sunday morning, a goodbye breakfast was held at the showgrounds and deliciously catered by the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Narrabri Support Group.

Penny Morris and Wayne Saunders.

Nira thanked the group for their service and praised the golf club for its hospitality

She said the group was especially appreciative to see the school site.

Susan Mason, Jenny Jones and Kerrie O’Sulivan.

Attendees for the reunion travelled from across a wide area, including the USA, Perth, Gold Coast, Tamworth, Sydney, Jindabyne and other locations.

Peter Wilson, Wayne Saunders and Tony Duncan.

“We had a good spread of people,” Nira said.

Nira said quite a few attendees who had travelled made the most of their visit to Narrabri and caught up with family and friends.
