GHFC: fitness that builds community

For Gunnedah Health and Fitness Co (GHFC), fitness is about far more than getting through a workout.

It is about helping people perform at their best, supporting local athletes, improving quality of life and creating a welcoming community where everyone can work towards their goals.

An award-winning functional training gym renowned for its high level of coaching, GHFC has helped hundreds of people across Gunnedah and the surrounding region, from elite athletes and sporting teams to everyday clients, pre-and post-natal mums, ageing clients and those undertaking rehabilitation.

A previous winner of the Australian Functional Fitness Business of the Year, GHFC’s expertise has been on full display in 2026.

The gym played an important role in the Gunnedah Rugby League Bulldogs’ premiership campaign, delivering its preseason strength and conditioning program, working individually with players throughout the season and providing weekly recovery services.

GHFC has also coached athletes to representative honours and state-level medal-winning performances.

Its Talented Athlete Program (TAP) continues to develop young sportspeople, with past participants progressing to state, national and international representation and sporting scholarships in Australia and the United States.

For everyday clients, expert coaches develop individualised programs to improve strength, balance, mobility, flexibility and cardiovascular fitness, build bone strength, reduce body fat or simply help people feel fitter and stronger.

The facility also offers a dedicated recovery room featuring compression massage sleeves, an infrared sauna and thermostat-controlled ice bath, alongside physiotherapy through Kinetic Lab.

GHFC’s community contribution extends beyond its members, with two free community sessions each week and fundraising support for organisations including Lifeline, Cancer Council and We Are Mobilise.

GHFC welcomes anyone interested in improving their health, fitness or performance to visit for a gym tour and chat with the friendly team.
