Mayor Darrell Tiemens said the council’s Community Financial

Assistance Grant Program was an important way of supporting the people and organisations working to

make a difference in their local communities.

“Our community organisations put an incredible amount of time, energy and passion into making their communities better places to live. While that work can bring its challenges, it also brings enormous reward,” he said.

“We don’t always take the time to celebrate what we achieve as a community, so it’s wonderful to recognise these groups and the projects they are bringing to life. Council is proud to support

initiatives that mean so much to our local communities.”

The council encourages other community groups with projects or ideas that could benefit their local community to keep an eye out for future rounds of the Community Financial Assistance Grant Program.
