The Narrabri District Cricket Association first XI has been named ahead of its War Veterans Cup opener in Tamworth on Sunday.

Twelve players will represent the Pink Slugs in the first round match, four of which were recently selected in the Northern Inland Bolters’ team which will compete at the Plan B Regional Big Bash T20 competition later this month.

Those four players are Narrabri’s captain Lachlan Cameron as well as his Civeo teammates Nick Smart and Chris Sargent, and Western Imperial Razorbacks young gun Dylan Smith.

Joining those Bolters representatives in the NDCA War Vets team for this Sunday’s match are Western Imperial Razorbacks co-captains Jay Hall and Justin Knight as well as teammate Ty Baker, RSL trio Nathan Trindall, Hamish Duncan and Cody Kember, Tatts’ Ryan O’Neil and Civeo’ Jordyn Mowle.

The squad for the 2019 War Vets campaign is a strong one, with Civeo duo Luke Meppem and Nick Tomlinson as well as RSL all rounder Jake Brayshaw all unavailable for round one but determined to play a role in the side in round two against Inverell away from home on November 10.
