The Western Imperial Razorbacks have bounced back after last round’s heartbreaking single-run loss to smash RSL in a huge way.

The Razorbacks’ batting performance was phenomenal, putting an incredible 221 runs and losing only seven wickets in the process.

The side’s ability with the ball was just as strong knocking RSL out for 106 runs in 25 overs.

The key men were Hadley Sevil and Ty Baker who produced a 74-run opening partnership to open the day’s proceedings.

The two played incredibly smartly and rotated strike consistently to keep each other fresh.

The duo lasted the entire first session before drinks were called.

Baker and Sevil’s partnership was eventually broken when Jarrett Tough caught Sevil in front of the stumps.

The score read 1-74 when co-captain Justin Knight entered the crease.Knight and Baker looked to be a solid duo putting on a 28-run partnership.

That was before Matt Tubner and wicket-keeper Mick Dowdell combined to remove Knight via a stumping.

Daniel Hamilton was the next man in for the Razorbacks as the scoreboard showed 2-102.

Baker was dismissed by Tubner just 15 runs later with a game-high 67 runs.

That dismissal made the score 3-117 as Toby Reynolds entered the pitch.

Reynolds managed five runs before he was stumped by Dowdell off the bowling of Luke Barton to make the score 4-129.

Steve Phelps was next in the line-up but he scored just two runs before being run-out by Shane Murphy.

With the score reading 5/133 Josh Trindall came to the crease.

The sixth wicket fell on the 26th over after Hamilton was dismissed for LBW from the bowling of Cody Kember.

In came Dylan Smith who was phenomenal last week.

Smith and Trindall put together a healthy 39-run partnership before Trindall was handed his marching orders thanks to Dowdell’s third stumping of the afternoon, that wicket came from the bowling of Tubner.

But that was the last wicket RSL would take as Smith and new partner Jay Hall enjoyed a 34-run partnership to close out the innings at 7-221.

The bowling attack of the Razorbacks showed incredible tenacity in the early stages.

Hall bowled Murphy in his first over of the day to make the score 1-2.

Hall would pick up the next wicket as well combining with Zack Trindall to dismiss Tough for 16 runs as the scoreboard read 2-23.

Three runs later the Razorbacks had its third scalp.

Toby Nancarrow dismissed Dowdell for just two runs.

Smith’s safe hands made the score 3-26.

RSL then put up some resistance when Kember entered the pitch.

Kember and Watkins combined for 15 runs but the partnership was cut short when Kember was trapped in front of the stumps by Nancarrow making the score 4-41.

One run later Watkins was dismissed by Hall.

Zack Trindall provided the catch to bring the score to 5-42.

A 20-run partnership lifted RSL, that was until Nathan Trindall (12) fell to the bowling of Nancarrow.

The score showed 6-62 when Tyson Gilmore walked to the crease.

He and Barton combined for 42 runs.

Barton’s 37-run stint was ended by Knight with the assist going to Hall.

That made the score 7-104.

Rod Tomlinson was the next man in for RSL but his contribution was small thanks to the bowling of Smith.

Smith caught Tomlinson in front of the stumps as the batsman was dismissed for a duck with the score reading 8-104.

Josh Trindall was the next man given out and it was Smith who made the score 9-106 when his delivery struck the pads of Trindall in front of the stumps.

The final scalp of the match was taken by Hall who earned his third wicket of the afternoon by bowling Gilmore for five runs.
