In response to a recent Thumbs item regarding a claimed lack of females in senior executive positions on the Shire Council, there is no ‘quota’ or other constraints: – “Council has a number of women employed in senior roles” a council spokesperson responded to the item. “Council undertakes recruitment activities based on legislative requirements set by the Local Government Act 1993, where employees are appointed based on merit.”
