The Narrabri and District Tennis Association season came to a close last night when the final round of the four-person teams doubles competition was contested.

This season the winners of the A-grade and B-grade competitions were decided by a first past the post format as opposed to a grand final.

The A-grade champions were AE Physio – the team of Warwick Moppett, Brock Heideman, Scott Castlemain and Jon Welsh.

AE Physio finished the campaign tied on 34 points with Dave’s Doubles, a team which included Dave Richards, Anthony Gray, Dean Holland, Rob Britten and Matt Nash, however, AE Physio was declared the winner on a countback.

Figjam placed third on the A-grade ladder with 30 points, ‘We defeated Scotty in a tie break’ finished fourth with 27 points and Voltaren ended up fifth with 25 points.

The B-grade champions were One Plus 3 – the team of Luke Barton and Jack, Bryan and Delece Harnett.

In a close B-grade competition One Plus 3 finished on 28 points, just two ahead of second-placed Minkees (26 points) and four ahead of third-placed The Players and fourth-placed Dry Lakers (both 24 points).
