Everyone wins in the community when residents shop locally and support their home town businesses.
And this year shire residents turned out to do their Christmas shopping locally at stores in Narrabri, Wee Waa and Boggabri.
Three lucky local shoppers were even bigger winners, taking home prizes of $1500, $1000 and $500 vouchers to be redeemed at 30 shire businesses participating in The Courier and Wee Waa News’ ‘Thinking Christmas? Buy Local!’ shop locally promotion sponsored by The Courier, Santos and Fly Corporate.
Thursday night, December 19, was the culmination of the promotion, the prize draw, which was held concurrently with the first Maitland Street Christmas Fair.
First prize winner was Mitchell Lewis, whose lucky ticket came from his purchases at McKechnie Bros in Narrabri. Mitchell’s $1500 prize was picked up on his behalf by his wife, Mel, pictured with from left McKechnie Bros. proprietors Richard and Merryl Herden and The Courier manager Wanda Dunnet.
