Oliver has emerged as the most popular name for baby boys in 2019, a clear favourite for the sixth year in a row. A list of top baby names compiled by the NSW Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages, reveals that Oliver (568 boys) is followed by Noah and William. Charlotte (449) is the top girls’ name for the third year running, narrowly ahead of Olivia and Mia. The top middle names for boys, John and William, have remained the favourites for the last 40 years and for girls Rose and Grace are the most popular, replacing Louise and Jane in the 1980s and 90s. Back in the 90s Jessica and Matthew were the top names of choice for parents.
