Rain comes and goes, but the Namoi River remains bone dry. “Even after the torrential downpours of recent days we don’t see any water in the Namoi,” a reader tells Topical. “There are regularly calls to face reality and rename the Narrabri Creek the Namoi River which in fact it is,” he says. “Travellers crossing what they think is the famous Namoi must wonder when they see it is just a dry gully.”
