A regular user of the new ‘shared pathway’ for peddlers and pedestrians has written to express his appreciation for the facility.

“The Narrabri riverside path is a credit to the people who came up with the idea, promoted it in the face of unlikely funding and saw it through to such successful creation by the council” he said. “Many people use it.

“It is well designed, well built and a real asset to the town, with seating along its route.

“As has been earlier mentioned, all it needs now is a name.

“‘Panton Path’ has already been suggested.

“The late Ross Panton did more than anyone else to improve the riverside precinct, with his many years of voluntary work. It would be a fitting tribute to have his name on it.”
