ANZ recently announced that the Narrabri and District Tennis Association was one of 20 recipients of its Community Grant program, helping support and develop local tennis clubs who deliver the ANZ Tennis Hot Shots program.
In addition to receiving a $10,000 ANZ Community Grant, Narrabri and District Tennis Association will receive merchandise, equipment, signage and access to a local ANZ specialist to help it with its finances.
Narrabri and District Tennis Association will use the grant to upgrade the clubhouse by rewiring the kitchen, repairing lighting and adding air conditioning.
ANZ Narrabri branch manager Katie Phelan presented Narrabri and District Tennis Association president Rod Kirk with the cheque at Friday afternoon junior tennis match play at the Dangar Park Tennis Centre.
“We’re excited to award Narrabri and District Tennis Association with this ANZ Tennis Hot Shots community grant,” she said.
“The club is a wonderful part of our community and are a great supporter of ongoing grassroots tennis.”
Tennis Australia chief executive Craig Tiley said the grant would help tennis in Narrabri prosper.
“This is a wonderful opportunity to allow Narrabri and District Tennis Association to make some exciting changes and provide their members with the best experience possible,” he said.
“We look forward to seeing Narrabri and District Tennis Association prosper and we’d like to thank ANZ for its ongoing support of tennis in our community and the ANZ Tennis Hot Shots program.”
ANZ Tennis Hot Shots is Tennis Australia’s official development program with a record 702,509 children between three and 12 years of age playing ANZ Tennis Hot Shots in 2018-19.
ANZ Tennis Hot Shots use smaller courts, lower nets, lighter racquets and low compression balls making it suitable for children of all abilities.
