wee-waaNarrabri High School’s Outdoor Education students recently travelled to Tamworth for an action-packed overnight excursion, providing plenty of opportunities for adventure, challenge and learning beyond the classroom.
The excursion began at Tamworth Mountain Bike Park, where students put the skills developed throughout their mountain biking unit into practice.
Tackling a range of green and blue single-track trails, the boys challenged themselves, built confidence and enjoyed the thrill of riding in a new environment.
The park offers a range of graded trails, including green and blue options.
Following an overnight stay at Lynchwood Scout Camp, the adventure continued the next morning with the Rock Hop.
Students navigated their way over, under and through a challenging series of boulders, requiring teamwork, problem-solving, communication and creative thinking to successfully complete the course.
Outdoor Education provides students with valuable opportunities to develop practical skills while building resilience, confidence and an understanding of the natural environment.
Through activities such as mountain biking, camping and rock hopping, students learn how to safely participate in outdoor environments while developing strong personal and social skills.
The Tamworth excursion was a fantastic experience for the NHS students, allowing them to challenge themselves, develop new skills, work together as a team and, most importantly, enjoy the great outdoors.
