Health authorities have today reported a ‘correction’ and clarification regarding the listing of a Narrabri Shire COVID-19 case.

“An individual who recently tested positive for COVID-19 reported a residential address in Narrabri,” said a Hunter New England Local Health District spokesperson.

“This address was a family home address, with the individual’s actual place of residence and current location being in the Sydney region.

“Following this correction, there are currently no confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Narrabri area.”

However people are still being asked to be vigilant as HNEH today reported an additional 25 cases of COVID-19 cases in the region in the last 24 hours bringing the Hunter New England region total to 167.

The initial use of a Narrabri address meant that NSW Health had Narrabri listed as a Local Government Area with at least one confirmed case of COVID-19, and it was reported by The Courier as well as other media outlets including the ABC.

The Courier has been seeking clarification on the issue and HNEH has stated that there are “no confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Narrabri area.”
