The anti-vaccination sentiments expressed by those in elite sports is astonishing for its ‘sports privilege’.
How much would the residents of Newmarch aged care facility would have liked to have “had control over what goes into their bodies”?
Is not the current state of the world a reflection of what the world would be like if there were no effective vaccines available for the general population?
How do they imagine elite sports would run if there was no effective polio vaccine, for example?
These guys have obviously never had to bury their babies nor console their baby’s mother.
Vaccination is not a matter of personal choice, but social responsibility.
I hope that they get sent off the field and back home without compensation to learn a little more about what the world and life without vaccine would be like.
There are so many teenagers who look up to them, their way of life and aim for ‘sports privilege’ that these views cannot remain unchallenged.
Polio, anyone?
