I support the Narrabri Gas Project and did not feel the need to make a submission. I’m hoping it brings jobs and opportunity to our town. I have confidence in the NSW Department of Planning and Environment and feel their decision will be made using science, not scaremongering about ‘what ifs’ using figures that suit. As far as “people beyond the Narrabri local area” commenting on what should happen in our shire is really a little rich. It has no effect on them, it is our young people who want to get work in our towns not having to move away all the time, it’s our towns that have the empty shops and dwindling services not theirs. People have had to leave town because of the drought. Wouldn’t it be good to have other industries that can back up our towns when agriculture is doing it rough. For the 36 per cent of people who did feel the need to make a submission in support of NGP, good on you.
