A Narrabri man will be sentenced in Narrabri Local Court on August 25 after he pleaded guilty to defrauding a sporting association of more than $80,000 while he was an elected official.
The man pleaded guilty to five counts of dishonestly obtaining financial advantage by deception, making a false document to obtain financial advantage and using a false document to obtain financial advantage.
Police allege that the man transferred funds into his personal account, withdrew cash, and made purchases at several businesses, defrauding the association of a total of more than $83,000 between November 2018 and August 2019.
The charges do not relate to a Narrabri sporting association, but a NSW based group.
