Clubs are returning to an almost normal meeting schedule as the restrictions on social gatherings are eased. Narrabri Rotary Club has held its first ‘face to face’ meeting after a 13-week COVID-19 hiatus on June 11.
“The club has been meeting online with Zoom, which keeps us in contact, but is not the same as people getting together,” commented publicity officer Darrell Tiemens.
“We had a working bee recently and the atmosphere was great as people could socialise once more, even though we are observing social distancing.
“The club is mindful that great caution still needs to be taken with social distancing and other measures.”
A highlight of the first Rotary meeting was a talk from Officer-in-Charge at Narrabri Ambulance, Lisa Haynes, said Mr Tiemens.
“Lisa has been at Narrabri for 13 years and loves the community,” he said.
“She was accompanied to Rotary by two Narrabri paramedic colleagues and members were delighted to meet them and hear from Lisa.”
