Narrabri Women’s Bowling Club Singles competition continues

The Narrabri Women’s Bowling Club Singles competition continued last Thursday and Saturday.

On Thursday, Ronnie Dewar and Heather Caton played 28 ends before Caton came out winner. The score was 14-15 to Caton on the 19th end then she went onto to win eight of the last nine ends to take the game 25-16.

Rhonda Welchman defeated Berice Eather 25-7.

Cecile got off to a good start against Mary Wheeler leading 9-7 after 13 ends. Wheeler evened the score on the 14th end then won eight out of the last nine ends to win her match 25-13.

Kay Carolan and Val Falkiner were also even on their ninth end at 7 all, then 12-all on the 14th end. Falkiner then won the next seven ends and match 25-12.

Dawn Armstrong and Eva Sadler were locked 7-all on the 10th end. Sadler won eight of the last 11 ends to win 25-11.

On Saturday, Lorraine Scott and Lyn Tuckey played 18 ends for Lorraine to win 25-8.

Cindy Neil and Lyn Wedesweiler had a very close game. Neil was leading 23-10 after playing 21 ends. Wedesweiler was not ready to give up and scored 12 points in the next six ends to make the score 23-22 to Neil. The score was then 24-all after 29 ends. Neil was holding shot on the next end and had the option of not bowling her last bowl which she took and won the game 25-24.

Social bowls was played last Thursday.

Pat Sheils and Gloria Campey defeated Lesley Price and Lyn Wedesweiler 20-11. Trish Allison and Beryl Regan defeated Carolynne Tomlinson and Kay Parker 24-6.

M Redman v L Scott, marker – L Wedesweiler; C Niel v R Welchman, marker – B Eather.
