Narrabri Industrial Network hosted the NSW Deputy Premier John Barilaro and visiting NSW parliamentarians at a meeting of shire industry representatives and community members on Monday night.

Narrabri Industrial Networ president Justin Smith welcomed Mr Barilaro to the event and presented an overview of the group’s aims to promote industrial development and employment in Narrabri Shire as major projects gathered momentum around the Inland Rail, the Northern NSW Inland Port and potentially the Narrabri Gas Project.

Mr Barilaro gave a very encouraging presentation on the prospects for Narrabri Shire, its industrial and agricultural potential and the scenario for growth generally in NSW.

Mr Barilaro was unequivocal in his predictions for Narrabri Shire’s future as a leading regional growth centre.

“You have an exciting time ahead,” he told the audience.

“You will look back at this stage of the shire’s coming development and recall this was a key period.”

Mr Barilaro was a welcome visitor to Narrabri Shire this week, meeting community members at two functions.

“Mr Barilaro is a strong supporter of Narrabri Chamber of Commerce and takes every opportunity he can to catch up with us,” said Chamber president Russell Stewart.

“The Chamber was pleased to host Mr Barilaro and his accompanying Members of the NSW parliament and hear an address by the deputy premier who reaffirmed his belief that Narrabri was one of the best placed communities in NSW – in the top three – to go ahead to an exciting future.

“He gave a good overview and answered questions from the Chamber members.”
