Above: Narrabri FC’s leading goal-scorer Colby Williams netted his team’s second goal on Saturday in a 5-0 win against rivals Crossroads Eleven FC to extend his season total to six goals.
On Saturday Narrabri’s two Namoi Soccer League sides Narrabri FC and Crossroads Eleven FC went head-to-head in the eighth derby since the local competition returned in 2017.
For an eighth straight match it was Narrabri FC which was victorious against its local rival.
Narrabri FC scored a 5-0 victory at Hogan Oval in round 10 of the 2019 season to remain three wins clear at the top of the table at the halfway point of the season.
Narrabri FC led 2-0 at halftime after strikers Blake Jarrett and Colby Williams netted in the opening 45 minutes.
Nathan Trindall, Connor Hill and Toby Sunderland all found the back of the net in the second stanza to make the final score 5-0.
Not only was the victory Narrabri FC’s eighth against Crossroads in recent history, it was also the team’s eighth consecutive win this season to take its tally to 24 points.
Trailing Narrabri FC by nine points in second place is Moree Services FC One which defeated Wee Waa United FC away from home on Saturday.
At Cook Oval, Wee Waa, the visitors scored a 3-2 win in the battle for outright second.
