Thumbs down to Narrabri Shire Council for its lack of support to the concerned citizens trying to get the proposed location of the Inland Rail adjacent to Narrabri altered. The proposed location is so obviously ridiculous to locals. There is another option, further to the northwest of Narrabri, for the line. Council itself has lodged a submission opposing the location immediately adjacent to our town but where are the public statements supporting council’s opposition? What is going on? Council needs to stand up publicly and support its constituents and agitate publicly for the alternative route. Not to do so will be selling out the residents of our town.
