AGRONOMISTS, researchers and industry representatives gathered in Narrabri for the annual Crop Consultants Australia Cropping Solutions Seminar.
With more than 180 registrations, there was a big roll-up at The Crossing Theatre for the presentations and panel sessions during the two-day seminar
The keynote speaker was Warren Davies, known nationally as The Unbreakable Farmer. He is a rural mental health advocate.
The growers panel was chaired by Bob Ford and included Mick Humphries, Sam Carberry, Paul Flewitt, Hugh Lennon, Matt Norrie and Ben Mulligan.
It provided the chance for attendees to hear directly from growers managing Verticillium Wilt on-farm, discussing experiences, challenges and management strategies.
The consultant panel, chaired by Tony Lockrey, featured Greg Rummery, Warren Davies and Nellie Lawson to discuss industry challenges, opportunities, how to have difficult conversations with clients, persist through the hard seasons, as well as the future of agricultural consulting.
The event had 20 speakers overall covering a range of agronomic, business and personal development topics.
Kasey Ward spoke about cropping diversity in northern Western Australia, Tom Garnsey gave insights from Agritechnica 2025 held in Germany, and Kate Lumber shared her Nuffield Scholarship learnings on managing semi-irrigated cotton.
Trade displays showcased new technologies, products and services from across the agricultural industry.
The seminar also provided valuable networking opportunities, with a welcome reception held at The Tourist Hotel and an annual general meeting.
