Narrabri Shire Council has approved the renewal of the Narrabri Rugby Union Football Club’s lease of Dangar Park.

The club has held the licence for the facility since 2000 and following last week’s endorsement to renew the agreement, the Blue Boars will continue to call the park home for another 21 years.

In approving the renewal, council will place the Dangar Park Crown Reserve licence on public exhibition.

If no submissions are received, council’s general manager Stewart Todd will be authorised to execute the licence agreement.

In a report tabled at last Tuesday afternoon’s council meeting, it was noted that the rugby union club had expressed interest in renewing the licence to continue the existing arrangements.

As part of the agreement, the club will pay an initial licence fee of $495 per annum, adjusted annually by applying the Consumer Price Index (CPI) or two per cent per annum, whichever is the greater.

Council’s recommendation was moved by Cr Robert Kneale and seconded by Cr Lloyd Finlay.
