Apparently Narrabri was known as the ‘railway town’ in its early days because the rail head was at Narrabri West. We will be the railway town again when the Inland Rail passes through right on the outskirts of town. We will be flanked by two railway lines – the new one and the existing one. It’s easy to hear the trains rumbling past now, so we are going to have a double whammy when the new line goes in so close to the northern side of town. (I support the Inland Rail but not where it is).
