A body – believed to be that of missing Narrabri man Dean Gray – was discovered on Wednesday morning.
Mr Gray had been last seen on a rural property on Old Gunnedah Road, about 7am on Saturday, October 16.
Later that morning, he was reported missing to officers from Oxley Police District.
Police then commenced inquiries to locate Mr Gray.
Following a multi-day large-scale coordinated land, air and water search of the surrounding areas, a volunteer assisting with the search found a body about 9.40am on Wednesday, October 20.
The body was recovered by police divers with the assistance of Western Region Police Rescue a short time later.
The body is yet to be formally identified but is believed to be that of the 25-year-old man.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
